Transfer
and uninterrupted intensive care. Life Savers Ambulance Services recently carried out the
transfer of an extremely critical patient suffering from brain hemorrhage from Delhi to
Surat, covering a distance of approximately 1200 kilometers using a fully equipped ICU
ambulance.
Case Overview
The patient was diagnosed with a brain hemorrhage, a life-threatening condition that demands
continuous monitoring and rapid medical intervention. Due to the severity of the condition and
the need for specialized neurological care the treating doctors advised transfer to a higher
medical center in Surat.
Considering the long distance involved and the fragile neurological status of the patient Life
Savers ICU Ambulance was deployed to provide continuous ICU-level support throughout the
journey.
Patient Condition
- Diagnosed with brain hemorrhage
- Extremely critical neurological status
- High risk of raised intracranial pressure
- Required constant monitoring of vital parameters
- Needed uninterrupted oxygen and supportive care
The patient’s condition required careful handling and avoidance of any sudden physiological
changes during transport.
Medical Setup During Transport
The Life Savers ICU ambulance was configured to function as a mobile intensive care unit and
included:
- Advanced cardiac and neurological monitoring
- Oxygen support and airway management equipment
- Infusion pumps for medications and fluids
- Emergency drugs and resuscitation setup
A trained medical team accompanied the patient to ensure close supervision throughout the
long journey.
During the transfer:
- Vital signs were continuously monitored
- Oxygen and medications were administered as required
- Head positioning and patient handling were carefully maintained
- Continuous communication was ensured within the medical team
Despite the extended travel distance the patient remained clinically stable under expert medical
supervision.
Arrival and Handover
On reaching Surat the patient was safely handed over to the receiving hospital team. A detailed
clinical handover was provided including neurological status observations during transport and
medical interventions performed.
Clinical Perspective
Transporting patients with brain hemorrhage over long distances poses significant challenges.
Maintaining physiological stability and preventing secondary brain injury are critical during
transit.
Through this mission Life Savers Ambulance Services once again demonstrated its
commitment as true Life Savers, delivering high-standard ICU care beyond hospital settings
and ensuring safe long-distance transfer for critically ill neurological patients.
