Sir Ganga Ram → Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya → PGI Noida: Critical Neonatal Cardiac Transfer

Sir Ganga Ram → Chacha Nehru → PGI Noida: A Life-Saving Care Continuum

A premature, low birth weight neonate (≈900 grams) with a suspected congenital cardiac defect was initially admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), New Delhi. Owing to the complexity and the need for advanced pediatric care, the infant was subsequently transferred to Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya (CNBC), New Delhi.

Critical Condition at the Time of Transfer

During transfer, the neonate was critically ill—requiring full ventilatory support and multiple intravenous inotropes/vasopressors to maintain hemodynamic stability.

  • Invasive/continuous monitoring of vitals
  • Ventilator-dependent respiratory support
  • Titrated inotropic/vasopressor infusions

Specialist Evaluation at CNBC

Comprehensive evaluation at Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya confirmed a significant congenital cardiac anomaly, necessitating dedicated pediatric cardiac and neonatal intensive care.

Referral to PGICH Noida for Advanced Cardiac Care

Given the severity and anticipated interventional/surgical needs, the patient was referred to the Post Graduate Institute of Child Health (PGICH), Noida—an advanced tertiary center for pediatric cardiology and neonatal intensive care—for further management and potential surgical intervention.

Seamless Multi-Center Coordination

Life Savers Ambulance Services coordinated a NICU-grade transfer pathway, ensuring safe handovers, uninterrupted ventilatory and vasoactive support, and real-time communication across all three centers.
