Lifesavers Ventilator Support From SGRH To Faridabad
Published on: March 22, 2026

care. Life Savers Ambulance Services recently carried out a critical neonatal transfer
involving a 1500 gram baby who required continuous ventilator support while being shifted
from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital SGRH to Faridabad.
Case Overview
The newborn was diagnosed with ASD Atrial Septal Defect, a congenital heart condition that
can significantly impact breathing and oxygenation in low birth weight babies. Due to the need
for further specialized neonatal care the treating team advised immediate transfer to a higher
center in Faridabad.
Recognizing the sensitivity of the case Life Savers Paediatric ICU Ambulance was mobilized
to ensure a safe and clinically stable transfer.
Patient Condition
- Birth weight 1500 grams
- Known case of Atrial Septal Defect ASD
- Required continuous ventilator support
- High risk of respiratory and cardiac instability
- Required constant monitoring of oxygen saturation heart rate and blood pressure
The fragile cardiac status and low birth weight made this a high-risk neonatal transport.
Medical Setup During Transport
The Life Savers ICU ambulance was specially configured for neonatal critical care and
included:
- Neonatal ventilator with controlled oxygen delivery
- Multiparameter monitor for continuous vital monitoring
- Oxygen backup and airway management equipment
- Emergency medications and neonatal resuscitation setup
A trained medical team remained focused on maintaining stable ventilation and circulation
throughout the journey.
During the transfer:
- Ventilator parameters were continuously monitored and adjusted
- Oxygen saturation and heart rate were closely observed
- The baby was kept warm with strict temperature control
- Continuous medical supervision ensured early identification of any instability
The coordinated approach of the team ensured a smooth and stable transfer despite the baby’s
fragile condition.
Arrival and Handover
On arrival in Faridabad the baby was safely handed over to the receiving neonatal ICU team. A
detailed clinical handover was provided covering ventilator settings observations during
transport and interventions performed.
Clinical Perspective
Neonatal transfers involving congenital heart disease demand advanced equipment and
experienced medical teams. Maintaining ventilator support during transport is essential to
prevent deterioration in such vulnerable patients.
Through this successful mission Life Savers Ambulance Services once again upheld its role
as true Life Savers, ensuring continuity of ICU-level care beyond hospital walls and supporting
critically ill newborns during the most delicate phase of life.
