Rail Ambulance From Noida to Mumbai

transport to Mumbai, which was carried out using a rail ambulance service in India,

Clinical Details

A 61-year-old patient was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GB Syndrome) along

with paralytic ileus. The condition caused significant abdominal distension, leading to

breathing difficulty. Due to this, the patient was maintained on continuous oxygen support

throughout the journey.

Transport Summary

The patient was shifted from Noida to Mumbai using a Lifesavers train ambulance with

medical team. One of the major challenges during this ICU train ambulance transfer was the

risk of worsening respiratory distress, which could have required emergency intubation and

ventilator support.

To prevent further complications, the patient was kept NPO (on intravenous fluids), and a

flatus tube was used multiple times during transit to reduce abdominal distension. The patient

was under strict observation by the onboard medical team for the entire journey, ensuring safe

The transfer was completed safely, and the patient was handed over to the receiving medical

team in Mumbai without any deterioration during transit.
