Patient Transportation From Delhi To Kolkata In ICU Rail Ambulance
A brain stroke patient was shifted from Fortis Hospital (Vasant Kunj, Delhi) to Kolkata via Lifesavers ICU Rail Ambulance under expert medical supervision. The patient had brain infarct with left-sided body paralysis. He was conscious and able to speak but unable to take food orally.
The critical aspects of care during the journey included maintaining hydration through continuous IV infusion and closely monitoring urine output through a Foley catheter with a urine bag.
Care Measures During Long-Distance Transport

- Monitoring and managing urinary output via Foley catheter
- Frequent repositioning to prevent pressure sores
- Bed-to-bed monitoring by a critical care transport team
Safe Handover
